Study Abroad 401: Coming Home

Make the most of your study abroad experience by attending our series of short presentations designed for study abroad alumni!  CGE Staff and CGE Peer Advisors will provide resources to help students adjust to campus life, maximize the study abroad experience in grad school applications and the job search, and communicate their study abroad experiences effectively in interviews and conversation.

Wednesday, February 22nd: Unpacking the Suitcase:  Study Abroad and Career Planning

  • With fewer than 5% of all US college and university students participating in study abroad at all, those students who have returned from abroad are in a rather select group.  How can students take advantage of their unique experiences and market themselves effectively for graduate school and the job market?  Come learn from the experts!

Wednesday, March 8th: A Survival Guide to Reverse Culture Shock

  • All of those peaks and valleys you experienced while getting used to your study abroad city…did it happen again when you got home?  Some veteran students will help you negotiate the challenges of “reverse culture shock” and help you get back in your campus routine!

Wednesday, March 22nd: International Education as a Passion or Profession- CANCELLED

  • Are you interested in international education either as a passion or profession? Come and learn about the various opportunities available to you to engage in this field post your undergraduate career here at TCNJ. Teaching abroad (TESL/TESOL), volunteering abroad, graduate school majors & paths, or even a gap year before you embark on your new chapter!
